HostBible: Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Effective: September 14, 2025
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets forth rules for using HostBible’s hosting, domain, email, and related services (“Services”). By using our Services, you agree to follow this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination under our Terms of Service.
1) Illegal Content & Activity
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation (local, state, federal, or international)
- Child sexual abuse material or content that exploits or endangers minors
- Fraud, phishing, scams, extortion, doxxing, or threats of physical harm
- Distribution or facilitation of counterfeit goods or services
2) Intellectual Property Infringement
- Hosting or distributing copyrighted material without authorization (warez, ROMs, cracked software, license keys)
- Trademark, patent, or trade secret violations
- Circumvention of DRM or other rights-protection mechanisms
3) Security Violations
- Unauthorized access, probing, scanning, or testing of systems or networks
- Malware distribution, command-and-control infrastructure, or botnets
- Denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, packet flooding, or exploit attempts
- Password cracking, brute force attacks, or credential stuffing
4) Spam & Messaging Abuse
- Sending unsolicited or bulk commercial email (spam) or "spamvertising" third-party sites
- Mail bombing, stealth header manipulation, or open relay abuse
- Violation of CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, or other applicable email laws
- Hosting phishing pages or deceptive landing pages
5) Resource Abuse (Shared Hosting)
Our shared hosting plans are designed for standard website workloads, not general storage or compute-heavy tasks.
- Crypto-mining or blockchain-related computation
- Running persistent background daemons or processes
- IRC servers, bots, or chat relays
- File-sharing, leeching, or public download mirrors
- Off-site backup/archival storage or large file hosting unrelated to your site
- Activities that consume disproportionate CPU, RAM, disk, or bandwidth
6) Hate, Harassment & Extremist Content
- Material intended to harass, threaten, or bully individuals or groups
- Content that promotes or glorifies hate, terrorism, or violent extremism
- Encouraging or inciting violence or self-harm
7) Enforcement
We may remove or disable content, throttle processes, suspend accounts, or terminate Services that violate this AUP. Where practical, we will attempt to notify you and work toward resolution before taking action. Repeated or egregious violations may result in permanent termination.
8) Reporting Abuse
If you believe our Services are being used in violation of this AUP, report it to abuse@hostbible.com. Please include all relevant headers, logs, or evidence.
